NOTES FROM THE SUPPORT TEAM

IS THERE A PRIVACY ISSUE WITH STORING EMPLOYEE FINGERPRINTS?

Recording of time and attendance is achieved both locally and at remote sites using the ClockOn MA series biometric terminals, a computer keyboard or the Employee Web Portal. The biometric terminals record shift and break times. In doing so, these verify employees’ identities, permanently eliminate the requirement for paper-based timesheets and prevent the time theft inherent to other systems. In the event of power failure, time and attendance data are retained in the devices and are automatically uploaded to the time sheets when power is restored. Delivered with a Power Over Ethernet (POE) injector, the terminals connect directly to a local area network.

DOES CLOCKON AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE MY PROGRAM FILES?

ClockOn allows the accurate recording of staff attendance and displays electronic timesheets in which an employee’s attendance and breaks are matched against the rostered shift. Predefined pay rules linked to these timesheets allow the automatic and totally accurate calculation of payroll. Location based filtering enables branch managers to manage time sheets locally, while the timesheet lockdown process provides a method of ensuring time entries have been validated at branch level prior to payroll processing.

DOES CLOCKON AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE AWARD AND INDUSTRY SPECIFIC COMPLIANCE?

Timesheets provide a colour-coded method of identifying attendance exceptions. Provided these are managed on a daily basis, subsequent payroll processing is a simple process. When an exception occurs, the timesheet administrator typically records a note describing the circumstances. This disciplined record keeping is invaluable in assessing employee attendance over a period of time.
