How long does setup take?
Most clients go live within 4–6 weeks. We handle award setup, parallel pay runs, and full onboarding.
Businesses with 1-5 employees can usually DIY setup their payroll in the same day.
Here's what the process typically looks like:

What are the limitations of ClockOn's free STP software?
You can review the inclusions and limitations here.
The most common reason to upgrade is to remove the limit of 27 STP submissions. Each one of the entities inside your free software will have 27 free submissions and, when that limit is exceeded, you can pay to upgrade them as each one reaches their submission limit.
For example, if you are submitting STP for these three different entities:
Client 1 (weekly payroll, weekly STP submission): software upgrade will be required after 27 weeks
Client 2 (monthly payroll, monthly STP submission): software upgrade will be required after 27 months
Client 3 (quarterly payroll, quarterly STP submission): software upgrade will be required after 6+ years
At their relevant time to upgrade, you will need to pay $2 per employee (minimum charge of $10/month) for each entity you are reporting for.
How often do I need to submit STP?
You are required to report payroll information to the ATO in-line with your clients pay cycles. For example, if you pay client's pay cycle is weekly, you should report their STP weekly.
Submitting STP quarterly will only be available to micro employers who meet certain eligibility requirements. Please check ATO guidelines as to whether your business meets this criteria.
Do I need to advise the ATO ClockOn's Software ID?
No, with ClockOn this process happens automatically. When you submit your first STP the ATO can recognise the source of the STP submission from the ABNs that you will enter inside ClockOn.
Can I manually enter the STP data required?
Yes, we recognise that many businesses just want to report the minimum required information to satisfy the ATO requirements. With ClockOn you can manually enter gross, tax and super for each employee and send it to the ATO.
Can you setup the STP system for all of my clients?
Yes, our professional team can setup the software for you and also teach you how to use the software going forward. Our normal setup service is $24 per employee but for our partners, we can setup your system for a significant discount. Please contact us to request this service.
Do you have an agent / accountant portal?
You will have a single sign-on and inside your software you will have a dropdown list showing all of your clients. You can simply select the entity you want to report STP for then repeat for your other clients.
Can I add ClockOn’s HR tools to my clients package?
Yes. You can add ClockOn HR to your service at any time. The HR module helps you manage employee records, onboarding, WHS, visa checks, superannuation details, and EEO reporting. All features are managed within the same system, giving you a centralised way to handle compliance and employee data.
