About Us

Our History & Future

ClockOn was founded by Umina radiologist Dr Graham Mylne, who built the original system to solve a practical problem inside his own medical practice. Existing payroll and workplace systems were not flexible, accurate or intuitive enough for the realities of running a healthcare business, so he developed a better solution.

In January 2000, with the support of a Federal Government Start Grant, ClockOn formally launched as a software business. From the outset, the focus was clear: create an affordable, reliable Time & Attendance, Rostering, HR and Payroll system purpose-built for Australian small businesses.

Early innovation quickly gained national recognition. ClockOn won a national software award in Sydney for outstanding innovation, functionality and strong prospects for future growth.

Fully developed on the Central Coast, ClockOn grew across industries including healthcare, administration and professional services. Unlike many providers that focused solely on payroll, ClockOn delivered an integrated workforce platform combining payroll, rostering, HR and time capture in one system.

Today, that original problem-solving mindset continues. Our configurable Rule Engine enables payroll to be customised to individual employees, awards and agreements, giving businesses confidence when managing complex pay conditions through our payroll software, rostering tools and time & attendance system.

We also offer the identical system as an outsourced payroll service, available on a temporary or ongoing basis. Whether covering staff leave or fully delegating payroll operations, businesses can rely on ClockOn to step in at short notice.

Innovation remains central to our future. ClockOn GO delivers real-time roster updates via two-way push messaging, while GPS localisation and biometric identity validation help eliminate time and identity theft. High-level auditing across the platform strengthens governance and compliance for modern Australian workplaces.
